A controversial subject among Indic scholars, is the Aryan Invastion/Migration theory that credits the Vedic culture to the Indo-Aryans. This theory was based primarily in linguistics, but recently DNA is bringing up serious questions regarding the extent to which the Indo-Aryan really influenced the native Indian cultures.

However, there is an undenyable corrollation between the religions and languages of many civilizations along the alleged proto-Indo-European migration route, of which the Indo-Aryans were one off-shoot. The nations upon which the proto-Indo-Europeans left the most noted marks were the Celtic, Greek and Norse, along with the Baltic and Slavic territories. Eventually their influence is seen in India and Iran.

These articles help explore the connection that all these cultures share, and which bring a bit more "street cred" to IndoWicca - since so many Wiccan traditions are based in the Indo-European cultures.

Many modern Wiccan rituals include a blessing and purification of the participants in the form of the application of a sacred oil, holy water, or similar substance upon the brow. Utilizing the application of a bindi can be a wonderful way to incorporate a Hindu element into an IndoWiccan ritual. The following article discusses the pertinent information that will be of use to those consider including this element into their ritual scripts.

Eclectic IndoWiccan Rituals

The following rituals have been found while surfing the web. They are not specifically Shakti Wiccan, and have no ties to our tradition. However, they can serve as templates of sorts to those who wish to see what an IndoWiccan ritual might look like, and can use these as inspiration.

Based on the Yoga Tradition of the Matrikas
This ritual uses Hindu themes, symbols and deities, within an eclectic Wiccan ritual framework. A very simple and nice ritual for groups, or could be used as inspiration for a solitary rite.

From the Sibylline Order's Website, an Eclectic Wiccan Tradition
This Esbat ritual used major Hindu deities as Quarter Gaurdians, and invokes Kali-Ma. It includes a meditation, as well as a nice athame-and-chalice section.
